Ally L. DeBoer
Ally L. DeBoer is a Virginia transplant who originally hails from Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California with a B.A. in Dance and Social Justice, before moving to Richmond to attend the University of Richmond School of Law. At the University of Richmond, she participated in the Moot Court Executive Board, Client Counseling and Negotiation Board, the Juvenile Defense Clinic, and the Institute for Actual Innocence. She was named to the Order of the Barristers for excellence in appellate advocacy.
Ally is currently licensed to practice law in both Colorado and Virginia. She began her legal career in the Denver Trial Office of the Colorado State Public Defender, with a heavy emphasis in trial work. In Denver, she defended indigent clients on cases from traffic infractions to sex assault. In one span of ten months, she took twelve cases in front of a jury, in areas spanning across careless driving, DUI, domestic violence, assault and battery, sex assault, and violation of protection orders. When she returned to the Richmond area, she came to Cravens & Noll, where she practices mainly in the areas of criminal defense and family law. What drives her practice is the belief that people come to attorneys at vulnerable points in their lives, and attorneys have the ability and the privilege to do real justice for real people. She strives to do even the small things with great compassion.
Wherever Ally is outside the courtroom, her Plott Hound mix, Daisy, is usually not far behind. When Daisy does not have her undivided attention, she also enjoys yoga, cooking, running, playing the guitar, and making noise for Yankees baseball, Rangers hockey, and her hometown Nebraska Huskers football.
